Description:

Step into the past with this stunning 1953 Chevrolet 3100 pickup, it’s a “head turner”. The restoration concept was too experience what it would have felt like in 1953 to drive off the showroom floor. This pickup underwent a frame-off restoration and has seen fewer than 300 miles since completion. It is free of any rust issues past (car was traced back to CA) or present. Everything has been stripped and painted. The body was refinished in 1953 Horizon Blue which is accented with navy blue trim both on the exterior and the interior. All the chrome, trim, emblems, bezels, and lenses have been reconditioned or replaced. The bed was redone in oak. The painted wheels wear chrome trim rings and center caps along with the wide white walls and hubcaps add an extra touch making this pickup a standout on the road. Power comes from Chevrolet’s 216 cubic inch I6 engine which was in its final year back in 1953. The engine has been completely rebuilt. Converted to 12V operation. The transmission was rebuilt and is a column shifted three-speed manual. The suspension, brakes, and steering have all been redone and retain a stock configuration. The restoration work involved countless new parts throughout; brake lines, radiator, fuel line, springs, bushings, shocks, hardware, wire harness, and so much more. The interior was also redone. The bench seat received new cushions and navy vinyl provides some nice contrast. Everything else was painted, plated, or replaced. It has a working heater as well! This is a wonderful post-war pickup. It was appraised by Classic Car Appraisals as a Concours level vehicle. Just hop in, start it up, and head down the road. It’s a great weekend cruiser.
