Description:
When my son joined the Marines over 20-yrs. ago, I created The "Spirit of America" from my 1967 Corvette to show support for all our Military and Veterans. For over 20-years it has gone to numerous charity car shows and Military events. I also take it to the Veterans center and provide pictures with the Veterans staying there. The Corvette started out as a white coupe with tan interior and original numbers matching "327" 300hp.engine with factory air conditioning, power brakes, power steering, power windows, Muncie 4-speed and side pipes. During the 2-year frame off restoration new Borgeson power steering was added as well as a new Tremec 5-speed transmission, complete Al Knoch interior with leather seats just 1,200 miles ago. It has a custom hand airbrushed American Flag done by Ryno Templeton in California one of the best in the country. I am 79-years old now and it's time for someone or some organization to give it a good home. The car runs perfect and has no issues. During the restoration I decided to spend whatever it took to convert it to a big block which required different fuel lines, suspension and everything a correct big block will have. I found an original GM "427" block and the casting numbers indicate it was built in 1967 the same year as the car making it extremely close to original since those engines were built for several years. The original engine is on a stand display and goes with the car as well as the original Muncie 4-speed transmission and radio. The radio was replaced with an exact replica that's bluetooth and a great sound system was installed out of sight. There are 2 types of insulation and sound deadening on floors, headliner and doors. I have owned this Corvette for 25-years and built it for myself not to sell but it's time to spend more time with my wife and less time at numerous events and shows. The car was invited to be a feature car at SEMA in Las Vegas sponsored by House of Kolor paint.
