1986 GMC C3500 Crew Cab Dually
1986 GMC crew cab, 3+3, long box (8’bed), C3500, 1 ton, dual rear wheels, 2 wheel drive, pickup. Engine is the original 454 ci (7.4 l) motor backed by the newly rebuilt TH400 transmission. The motor is carbureted, not EFI. The motor shows 82,951 miles on the five digit odometer and the title shows as “Exempt.” The truck has Sierra Classic (YE9) trim as well as the base Camper Special equipment (Z81).
The truck has power windows and locks, power steering and brakes. In addition, there are dual fuel tanks (16 gal. ea.), front tow hooks, tilt wheel and cruise control (not working). The windshield is new as is the rear slider. The A/C system is functional and operates on R-134. Wheels are 8 lug, factory steel wheels, with Cooper Highway Terrain tires, size 235x85xR16 and are in good condition. The truck does not have a factory tachometer. The rear end ratio is 4:10 and the roof lights function properly. It does have an engine oil cooler.
Gauges work: the fuel gauge flutters a bit but does switch from side to side. A fifth wheel hitch penetration in the pickup bed floor has been welded closed with about a 12”x12” closure plate and the bed interior has been coated with spray in bed liner material. The truck does not have an underbed spare tire mounted. The truck has been repainted in the original saddle/tan factory color. The interior has new seat upholstery for the front and rear seats and original carpeting.
The truck was originally sold new in Texas, then went to Arizona in 1993 and since then has been in Idaho for the remainder of its 40 year lifespan. The truck has had a comprehensive tune up including the braking system. It starts up with little to no smoke and runs out well. It has an aftermarket Pioneer radio with Bluetooth. The picture of the SPID label that was in the glove box shows all the options that the truck came with.
